Before the start of each episode, these opening credits always made me feel both safe and sad at the same time. Heavy emotions for a four-year-old to experience in 59 seconds.
Watching this 23 years later is like getting a big hug from a photo album filled with discontinued faces. The same gut punch it was in 1988.

The VHS recording I have starts when Donald Duck is being photographed here and he starts explaining the progress to Doogie Howser. We didn’t start taping until that point because I had to go to bed. The next day, when I watched the tape, I got my first look at the upcoming Beauty and the Beast! I still love seeing the voices of the characters in action.

I taped this when I was little. It’s kicking around on VHS somewhere. Makes me miss the 80s and my childhood.
